Get ready for a fun and high-energy camp! Enjoy a mix of sports, games, art, dance, and theatre, inside and outside (if weather permits). We also have special guests and entertainers! Each day is different and exciting. Camp is active and always changing! What to expect: • Activities for different ages and interests • Focus on friends, play, and movement Is the Participant “Group Ready”? Recreation day camps are group-based programs where kids make friends, play, and learn together. Children should be group ready, meaning they can take part in the group most of the time. A group-ready child can: • Be in busy, active group spaces • Listen and follow directions from staff • Play, join activities, and stay safe with others • Move between activities with support and handle sounds, lights, and crowds (staff can help with transitions and sensory needs). If a child spends more than 30% of the day away from group activities, staff may talk with parents/guardians to review if camp is the right fit and to explore supports or accommodations to help the child stay safe and take part in the program. Our goal is to help every child be safe, included, and part of the group as much as possible. The Kerrisdale Community Centre reserves the right to re-evaluate a participant's registration if: • The participant's needs cannot be safely met • The participant poses a danger to themselves or others • Staff are unable to support the care level necessary for a participant's safe and successful program experience • The participant's medical, physical or behavioural condition is significantly different to what was disclosed Before camp: Parents/guardians will get an email with rules, forms, and important info.
